Workers' Day observed by six labor unions at Damanjodi.

Damanyodi:-(N.P.) 2/5: Labor day was celebrated with the cooperation of various labor unions working in Navratna National Aluminum Compan Ltd in a grand manner jointly by six unions . Representatives of all the six unions went around the city in a mass rally and gathered in front of the new office building of the AMS situated inside the Mangoforest in Mathalput. Around 1000 members of the unions gathered in the spot. While the General Secretary of CITU Odisha State Committee, Comrade Ullas Chandra Swain, was the Chief guest, J Choudhury of CISF was the guest of honour.
Arjun Chowdhury, and Kuna Khora , President and Secretary of AMS, coordinated the programme. Prashant Barik, Kumuti Naik, CK Jena, and others facilitated in smooth coordination of the programme. General Secretary , Mines and Refinery Employees Union Karunakar Sethi, President Heavy and Light Motor Vehicle Union Edwin Khara, General Secy. Vijay Bihari Patra, President Mass Workers Union George Benn Turuk, General Secretary Narayan Shatpathi, New Construction Workers Union President Subash Khara, General Secretary A Khara, Nalco Mines Construction Workers Union President Manoj Kumar Naik, General Secretary Karna Hial, Nalco Thikadar Karmachari Sangha President Shyam Gouda, General Secretary U Kuldip were also present on the occasion as invited guests. Importance of
Workers' unity in the present day complex industrial environment was the prime theme of address by the speakers. They stressed on how the worker unity plays the vital role in achieving their legitimate in order to achieve the workers' demands and rights. The chief guest gave a detailed narration of the struggle from the beginning of observation of the Labor Day till now. President Kuna Khara and Secretary Arjun Chowdhury's efforts were highly appreciated appreciated by the members. The voice of labor unity echoed the atmosphere with slogan by speakers Congratulations to all for labour unity. The programme ended with a vote of thanks followed by lunch.
