The Apatani Women Association Ziro (AWAZ), in collaboration with SPICMACAY, organized a cultural event at Saint Claret College, Ziro, featuring the classical Indian dance form Sattriya. Renowned artist Anita Sharma performed Sattriya, a traditional dance with roots in Assam’s Vaishnavite monasteries, characterized by intricate footwork, hand gestures (mudras), and expressive storytelling (abhinaya). The event also included an interactive session where Sharma introduced students to fundamental Sattriya dance steps, promoting cultural awareness and artistic appreciation.
