Stop Bike Taxi Operations by Karnataka Government

Karnataka High Court has directed bike taxi operators to shut down within 6 weeks.

Because clearly, the biggest threat to public order isn’t potholes, traffic jams, or auto drivers refusing rides — it’s two-wheelers trying to help people get to work on time.

The reason? “Security.”

Sure. Let’s protect people by… taking away the most affordable, accessible form of transport they have.

And while we're at it, let’s also erase the livelihood of over 1.5 lakh drivers working on platforms like Rapido, Uber, and Ola.

Because nothing says progress like putting more people out of work.

Bike taxis aren’t a luxury. They’re how the average citizen survives the chaos of commuting in Bengaluru.

Take an example— a regular guy, techie, just trying to get to work.

Wait 30 minutes for a bus. Or book an auto that will look at his pin and decline the ride anyway. Book a cab in 45 minutes

Or… take a bike taxi that actually shows up, on time, and gets him to his destination without bankrupting him.

They’re 30% cheaper than autos. They weave through traffic. They don’t ghost you when you need them most.

But of course — let's shut them down.

Because studying the problem, regulating the industry, and creating better systems is way too much work.

It’s much easier to hit “ban” and move on.

What we really need is regulation, not eradication.

Systems thinking, not courtroom shortcuts.

If you've ever relied on a bike taxi to save your day — or know someone who drives one to feed their family — now’s the time to speak up.

Don’t let real solutions be buried under bureaucracy.

Because if this is how we “fix” things, we’re going to be left with a city full of problems… and no one left to drive us through them.
