Srinagar First May ---Labour day 2025 Today at literary function organized by Sufi cultural society in collaboration with Academy of culture ,Artt and languages,the chairman Kashmir society international khwaja Farooq Renzushah Novelist & Author of 22 books at the literary Labour Day function refered about labour crises since closure of Silk factories & handicrafts in Kashmir ..He said history is witness of the fact that in 14th century besides Handicrafts ,the silk production was introduced by great Sufi saints of that century .The economic history of Kashmir is witness of the fact that the period was golden era of Kashmir. It was the period when best art of the world was produced in Kashmir through master pieces of crafts and Kashmir silk surpassed even china in fineness and quality .This was the time when unique Shah Tosh shwals & Doosa's weee introduced establishing greatness of Kashmir labour .Even finest and unique productions would pass through the golden ring of the finger.The silk route which would pass through kashmir was dominated by Kashmir silk and Kashmir art .and the route upto Shanzi china is still dotted with extraordinary stone art as well which helped kashmir to establish its sway upto Gandhara & khurasan for which entire credit goes to our legendry labour class .
Renzushah said that unfortunately suppressing this labour class in 19 & 20 century resulted in labour crises in Kashmir..The Silk Factory agitation in Zaldagar Kashmir was same as hayway market labour agitation of Chicago 1896 .The labour crises in Kashmir resulted in closure of our great ancient art and crafts .
Renzushah said that labour is basically prime treasure of human resources and it's better management supplimented by attractive labour policies with high incentives for art and present digital labour will be helpful to revive golden era of our great economy .He said intellectual class of Kashmir need to play significant role to revive this precious treasure of human resources whose conditions have been rendered as jewells submerged in mud
