Khinsan Wangsu from Arunachal Pradesh has earned a spot in the 13-member Indian women’s taekwondo team for the World University Games-2025, scheduled to be held in Germany, marking a major milestone in her sporting journey.

Wangsu’s selection came on the back of a stellar performance during the national trials held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, in February this year.

“This is a proud moment not only for Arunachal but for the entire Northeast. Her journey is truly inspirational for young athletes,” Arunachal Taekwondo Association general secretary Likha Robin was quoted as saying by The Arunachal Times.

A native of Mington village in Longding district, Wangsu has already made a name for herself at the national level, bagging four gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in various championships. Her victories include two golds at the National Games hosted in Goa and Uttarakhand.

She is currently pursuing a BSc in Sports Science at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana.
