My government is committed to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Odisha- Mohan Majhi

Berhampur-05/06/25 Report By Rajani Mohapatra
The Honorable Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, visited Ganjam district and unveiled the statues of 41 Odia Barputras. Later, he participated in the industrial establishment program held at the playground in Chhatrapur and laid the foundation stone of twelve industries to make the dream of Odisha's excellence a reality. In which a total investment of Rs 28.084 crore will be invested and 15,455 jobs will be created. In his speech, he informed that today, industries worth about Rs 30,000 crore are going to be established here. In 5 months, we have invested a capital of Rs 1.5 lakh crore and this will create about 90,000 jobs. Along with these twelve industrial projects today, the foundation stone of two projects was also laid. Out of them, one is the Common Effluent Treatment Plant; the other is the Utility Corridor. With this, the industrial waste that will be discharged from all the industries will be treated at one place and clean water will come out. There will be no possibility of the environment getting polluted due to this. Today is World Environment Day. Therefore, our government is working for environmental protection along with industrial development. This year, the theme of World Environment Day is, 'Beat the Plastic'. In this regard, he appealed to the people of Odisha and said, "Reject plastic as much as possible, especially single-use plastic".
The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has repeatedly said, 'Odisha will be the dawn of East India'. We are fully prepared for this. So, the path we are paving for our youth is industry. Keeping this in mind, in the Excellence Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave held in January, we attracted capital worth 17 lakh crore rupees and there was a possibility of creating 13 lakh employment opportunities, he had pointed out to the people.
Our success broke the records of all previous Make in Odisha programs. However, many expressed doubts about it, but our government is running under the guidance of Modi ji. Whatever we decide to do, we definitely do it. There is complete coordination between our goals and programs. Within 4 months of Make in Odisha, the foundation stone for an industry worth 70 thousand crore rupees was laid in Jajpur Kalinga Nagar. Yesterday, the foundation stone for an industry worth 50 thousand crore rupees was laid in Dhenkanal.
We have a goal to develop a port-based industry in Odisha. In addition to the three ports that are there now, 3-4 more ports will be established. The central government has approved projects worth about one lakh crore rupees in the railway and highway sectors. We will also build 75 thousand kilometers of world-class roads in Odisha. Along with this, many industrial corridors will also be created. With this, all the basic requirements for industrial development will be fully met in Odisha.
We are also encouraging mothers of self-help groups to set up micro and small industries. The small industries that mothers set up can establish a state-level supply chain with our large industries. Industrial culture will develop in Odisha. After this, no one can stop the development of Odisha.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister promised the people of Odisha that this is a strong step to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people of Odisha and many such development projects are going to be launched in the coming days. Currently, in the employment sector, employment is being given to the unemployed youth of our state. In the first year itself, 27,000 vacant posts have been filled and soon forty thousand more vacant government posts will be filled. It is hoped that in the next five years, one and a half lakh youth will be appointed in government jobs.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi, MP from Berhampur, delivered the opening speech. Odisha's Minister for Commerce and Transport and Steel and Mines, Shri Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Minister for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, Shri Sampada Chandra Swain, MP from Aska, Smt.
