International Literacy Day


Gadag (Karnataka News) September 9: As part of the 59th International Literacy Day celebrations, the Gadag district level Literacy Day celebrations were held at the Gadag District Administration Office premises on Monday. G.P. Project Director M.V. Chalageri hoisted the literacy flag.

Speaking later, he said that the literacy programs being implemented in the district should be made successful to achieve complete literacy. He also said that the goal is to make Karnataka a fully literate state within a period of 5 years from 2022 to 2027.

District Adult Education Officer S.S. Welcoming Kuri and giving an introductory speech, he said that the district education officers should make the state-level fully literate Gram Panchayat literacy program, the basic literacy program under the district-level Link Document Janashikshan Nilaya Yojana and the national-level Nav Bharat literacy programs successful with their collaboration.

The Principal of the Diet, Mrs. Mangala B. Tapaskar, administered the literacy oath.

D.Y.P.C. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, M. H. Kambali spoke and said that educated people should take the initiative to provide literacy to the illiterate. He said that literacy is like a crutch for people to live independently. On this day of emphasizing the importance of education, literacy is very necessary if we want to achieve success in any field, everyone should become literate. And adults above 15 years of age should develop life skills with reading, writing, simple calculations. He said that this literacy program is very useful in reducing the literacy gap between men and women in urban and rural areas.
ShastiçÃji B.Ed. College lecturer Raju Kerura and trainees of the college, and especially instructors of various literacy programs, participated in the international literacy flag hoisting program and brought joy to the program. All those who participated in the flag hoisting program unveiled the seed certificates related to the literacy program, which came from the State Lok Shikshan Samiti.

Dasara, and Field Resource Persons and Cluster Resource Persons of Gadag Rural Division and staff of the District Adult Education Department, participated in the literacy flag hoisting program.
