Thousands of Devotees Flock to Hazratbal to Catch a Glimpse of Holy Relic
Srinagar, Sep 13,The Hazratbal shrine today witnessed a sea of devotees on Friday as thousands of faithful assembled to offer congregational prayers and seek blessings by witnessing the display of the revered holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The congregation, one of the largest seen in recent times, came just days after Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) was observed across Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. On the traditional Friday following the occasion, worshippers from different parts of the Valley travelled to Hazratbal, reciting Quranic verses and offering prayers with tears in their eyes. Many prayed for personal well-being, family health, and peace across the world.
Similar religious gatherings were held at several shrines and mosques including Asar Sharif Shahr-e-Kalashpora, Asar Sharif Jenab Sahab Soura, Lal Bazar, Syed Yaqoob Sahab Sonwar, and Makhama Beerwah in Budgam. Devotional crowds were also reported from other districts: Pinjoora in Shopian, Khiram Sirhama and Seer Hamadan in Anantnag, Kaba Marg Qaimoh in Kulgam, Khanqahi Faiz Panah in Tral, and Aham Sharief in Bandipora.
Religious scholars and clerics, in their sermons, urged the faithful to follow the message of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), stressing compassion, humility, and service to humanity.
The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board had put in place special arrangements for the smooth conduct of the gatherings, while the Traffic Police devised a route plan to manage the heavy rush of vehicles heading towards the shrine.
