Mental Health & Wellness Awareness Program Marks a Milestone at Hi-Tech Medical College, Bhubaneswar by H.E.L.P & SAKSHAM Purva Prant, Odisha

Bhubaneswar, 22nd September 2025: The Mental Health & Wellness Awareness Program held at Hi-Tech Medical College, Bhubaneswar emerged as a landmark event, bringing together policymakers, social leaders, academicians, and youth voices under one platform. With the theme “Mental Health and Wellness Matters – From Awareness to Action,” the program witnessed an inspiring confluence of ideas, dialogue, and commitment towards holistic wellbeing.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Sj. Rabi Narayan Behera, Hon’ble MP (Jajpur), whose address highlighted the urgent need for community-driven action in mental health. Adding to the grandeur were the Guests of Honour – Sushri Pragyan Mahala (Joint Secretary, VHP & National Coordinator, Durga Vahini), Sj. Kishore Dwibedi (Chairman, World Odisha Society), and Smt. Nivedita Satpathy (Chairman, WCSW). Their words of encouragement resonated deeply with the audience, setting a positive and action-oriented tone.

The occasion was further enriched by the esteemed presence of Mr. Suresh Kumar Panigrahi (Managing Trustee & Group CEO, Hi-Tech Group), Prof. Dr. Rabindra Nath Behera (Medical Superintendent, HMCH), and Prof. Dr. Devanand Mohapatra (Principal, HMCH), reflecting the strong institutional commitment towards promoting mental health awareness and wellness education.

Jointly organized by H.E.L.P NGO and Saksham Odisha Purva, in collaboration with Hi-Tech Medical College & Hospital and WCSW, the program served as a meaningful platform to bridge gaps between awareness and actionable change.

A special highlight of the day was the interactive panel discussion with students of Hi-Tech Medical College, featuring Smt. Manasmita Jena, Smt. Nivedita Satpathy, Prof. Dr. Devanand Mohapatra, and Miss Akruti Swain – the youngest author present at the event. Their insightful perspectives, blending academic knowledge with youth dynamism, shed light on the pressing need to prioritize mental health in personal, institutional, and societal spaces.

The program concluded on an uplifting note, with participants pledging to make mental health a collective priority. The atmosphere was filled with hope, inspiration, and determination, reinforcing the belief that mental wellness is not just an individual responsibility but a shared mission.
