Maharashtra allows shops to stay open 24/7; bars, liquor outlets excluded

In a major relief to businesses across Maharashtra, shops, hotels, restaurants and several other establishments will now be allowed to operate 24 hours a day, with the exception of liquor supply and sale outlets.

In a fresh circular issued by the industries department on Wednesday, the state government cleared its stance after repeated complaints from businesses about police and local authorities restricting all-night operations.
