Fortis Escorts Director Visits AMU; Explores Prospects for Strengthening Healthcare Collaboration



ALIGARH, November 24: Dr Vikram Aggarwal, Vice-President and Facility Director of Fortis Escorts Hospital, New Delhi, visited Aligarh Muslim University for a courtesy meeting with the Vice Chancellor, Prof Naima Khatoon, accompanied by the Director, Medical Attendance Scheme (MAS), Prof Hammad Usmani. During the interaction, he conveyed his commitment to supporting AMU employees and contributing to the University’s institutional growth. The discussions centred on referral treatment of AMU employees at Fortis Escorts under the CGHS scheme and strengthening coordinated healthcare services between the two institutions.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Khatoon emphasised the need to expand access to quality healthcare for AMU employees and welcomed the prospects of deeper collaboration. The Director, MAS also highlighted the University’s commitment to ensuring timely and efficient medical support through strengthened referral mechanisms and streamlined care pathways.

Earlier in the day, Dr Aggarwal visited the Department of Anaesthesiology at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where he delivered a guest lecture on “Anaesthesiologist as a Healthcare Leader.” He outlined the evolving leadership role of anaesthesiologists in modern healthcare systems, touching upon clinical administration, perioperative management and multidisciplinary coordination.

The session was attended by Prof Mohd Khalid, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, who stressed the importance of academic exchange programmes for faculty development and collaborative training. Prof Amjad A. Rizvi, Principal and CMS, welcomed Dr Aggarwal and appreciated his contributions at Fortis Escorts Hospital, reiterating his commitment to progressive reforms at JN Medical College for the benefit of patient care and institutional efficiency.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty membersfrom various departments, residents and staff.
