Fake IAS/IPS Officer Arrested in Hyderabad for Cheating & Extortion

Film Nagar Police have arrested a white-collared criminal, Bathini Shashikanth (39), who spent over two years impersonating senior government officials like IAS, IPS, and NIA officers. The accused used fake identity cards, bodyguards with weapons, police sirens, walkie-talkies, and forged documents to cheat innocent citizens.

He collected ₹10,50,665 from a complainant, Ali Hassan (MD of Gold Gym), by promising industrial land through a forged TSIIC allotment letter. After taking the money, he absconded.

Hyderabad Police arrested him on 25-11-2025 and seized mobile phones, SIM cards, walkie-talkies, and fake ID cards. Two accomplices, Praveen and Vimal, are absconding. Police urge citizens to stay alert and report such suspicious persons immediately.
