*KISHTWAR POLICE EXPOSES DRUG SYNDICATE*

District Police Kishtwar achieved another success in its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking by apprehending a drug peddler and recovering heroin-like substance during routine checking and frisking at Shalimar Naka.
*While sharing the details, SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS* informed that during naka checking, the Police Party led SHO PS Kishtwar Insp. Firdous Ahmed under the supervision of *Addl. SP Kishtwar Sh. Pardeep Singh Goria-JKPS and Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta-JKPS* intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK17A-1785 for routine inspection. During the course of checking, one individual identified as Amrit Kumar S/o Peyare Lal R/o Lower Poochal, Kishtwar, who was seated in the cabin of the vehicle, was found carrying 12–13 grams of heroin-like substance in his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 253/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway to identify the source of the contraband and to expose the entire network involved in the drug trade.
