A deeply inspiring scene unfolded this morning at the sacred Mahabodhi Mahavihara. Under the holy Bodhi Tree, a special dana ceremony was held in which 100 Buddha statues were offered by a devoted American lay follower, while the remaining statues were donated by Buddhist devotees from Thailand, LBDFI, and several other international groups.
In total, 220 sacred Buddha statues will now be respectfully installed across various Buddhist viharas throughout India.

As the donors made their offerings with folded hands, the assembled Sangha filled the air with chants of karuṇā (compassion) and mettā (loving-kindness). Many present were visibly moved by this powerful expression of global Buddhist unity and devotion toward the holy land of Bodh Gaya.
