Khattar Inaugurates Foundation of Concrete Dam at Ratle Hydropower Project in Kishtwar
Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday inaugurated the foundation stone of the Concrete Dam at the Ratle Hydropower Project in the Drabshalla area of Kishtwar district and reviewed the progress of the prestigious power project.
During his visit, the Union Minister inspected the ongoing construction works and held detailed discussions with project authorities regarding project timelines, technical aspects, safety measures, and future planning. He emphasized the need for timely completion while maintaining the highest standards of quality and environmental compliance.
The Minister was accompanied by senior officers of the Kishtwar district administration, engineers, and officials from the project executing agencies, who briefed him on various components of the project and the current pace of work.
The Ratle Hydropower Project, being developed on the Chenab River, is one of the most important power projects in the region. Once completed, it is expected to significantly enhance power generation capacity, strengthen energy security, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of Jammu and Kashmir by creating employment opportunities and boosting local infrastructure.
Union Minister Khattar reiterated the Centre’s commitment to harnessing hydropower potential in the Union Territory and assured full support for the successful execution of strategic power projects like Ratle.
