Malda Division’s RPF Recovers 21 Kg Narcotic Substance ER/MALDA DIVISION

Under the guidance of Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda and the supervision of Shri Ashim Kumar Kullu, Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF, Malda. the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Malda Division continues its vigilant efforts to curb illegal activities across railway premises. As part of its focused anti-narcotics drive “Operation Narcos,” a significant seizure was made at Malda Town Railway Station on 03.01.2026.

On 03.01.2026, officers and staff of the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB),Malda, in coordination with RPF Post,Malda Town, conducted a raid on specific intelligence regarding the smuggling of narcotic substances by Train No. 15658 Down Brahmaputra Mail.

After the arrival of the train at Platform No. 01 of Malda Town Railway Station, two male individuals were apprehended based on suspicious behaviour by the vigilant railway security personnel. During the search, three (03) packages of narcotic substance suspected to be Ganja (Marijuana) were recovered from their possession. The total weight of the seized contraband was found to be 21 kg, with an estimated value of ₹10,50,000.

After completion of all legal formalities as per provisions of the NDPS Act, the apprehended persons along with the seized narcotic substances were handed over to GRPS,Malda Town for further necessary legal action.
