Journalist Shot Dead, Throat Slit in Bangladesh; Gang Rape and Brutal Torture Reported in Jhenaidah

Bangladesh has been shaken by a series of brutal crimes, triggering widespread outrage and concern over law and order in the country. In one incident, a journalist was shot dead and his throat slit in a cold-blooded killing, while another horrifying case of gang rape and inhuman torture has been reported from Jhenaidah district.
According to sources, the journalist was first shot by unidentified assailants while performing his professional duties. The attackers later slit his throat to ensure his death before fleeing the scene. The gruesome murder has sparked strong reactions from journalists’ associations, who have condemned the attack and demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment for those responsible.
In a separate incident in Jhenaidah, a woman was allegedly gang-raped and then subjected to extreme physical and mental torture. The accused reportedly tied the victim to a tree and forcibly cut her hair as part of the abuse. She was later rescued in a critical condition and admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Human rights organizations have strongly condemned both incidents, calling them acts of barbarity and demanding stricter measures to ensure public safety. Law enforcement agencies have launched investigations into the cases and assured that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
The back-to-back incidents have raised serious questions about the deteriorating law and order situation in Bangladesh, with growing demands for accountability and stronger protection for journalists and women.
