NEW PROBLEM ARISES

Wheat Not Available in Ration Shops, LPG Subsidy Delay Causes Public Concern
February 9, 2026
Many ration card holders are facing difficulties as wheat is reportedly not being provided at local ration shops under the Public Distribution System (PDS). Several beneficiaries stated that when they visited ration shops to collect their monthly supplies, they were informed that wheat stock was unavailable.
Residents expressed frustration, as wheat is an important part of their daily diet. Due to the shortage, families are being forced to buy wheat from private shops at higher prices, increasing their financial burden.
“We are only receiving rice, but wheat is not being given. This is creating problems for our household,” said one beneficiary.
In addition to this issue, LPG consumers are also complaining that they are not receiving the gas subsidy in their bank accounts after booking cylinders. Many people who depend on the subsidy to manage their household expenses said the delay is causing financial stress.
When consumers contacted the gas agencies, they were reportedly told that the subsidy has not yet been credited and there is a delay in processing. However, no clear explanation has been provided.
Residents are requesting the concerned authorities to take immediate action to ensure proper wheat supply at ration shops and to resolve the delay in LPG subsidy payments. People hope the issue will be addressed soon to avoid further inconvenience.
