Three-day International Urdu Conference held in New Delhi
Hyderabad, February 11 (Sarfaraz News Agency). The International Urdu Conference organised by the National Council for the Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, was held in New Delhi. The inauguration of the conference was held at the Prime Minister’s Museum, Teen Murti Marg, Delhi. Special sessions on "Relationship between Urdu and other languages, Indian knowledge system in Urdu, Mushaira, and Evening Ghazal" and under the titles "Great confluence of literature and culture and Urdu language and civilisation in multilingual India" were addressed by prominent personalities of the World Urdu Conference. During these three days, comedy programmes, Ghazal and Mushaira were organised at the Dr M.A. Ansari Auditorium Hall of Jamia Millia Islamia University. Under the supervision of Dr Shams Iqbal, Director, National Council for the Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), Ministry of Education, Government of India, various events were organised. Foreign guests from 16 countries attended the event. Mr Mohammed Abdul Sattar, Member, National Council for the Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), was felicitated for his services to Urdu.
