52nd Karbi Youth Festival Celebrated with Grandeur at Taralangso


​DIPHU, February 17, 2026 — The hills of Karbi Anglong are resonating with the sounds of tradition as the 52nd Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) 2026 is currently underway at the Karbi People’s Hall in Taralangso. Running from February 15 to 19, the event remains the largest ethnic cultural gathering in Northeast India, drawing thousands of visitors daily.
​Festival Highlights
​The five-day extravaganza, organized by the Karbi Cultural Society (KCS), serves as a vital platform for the Karbi community to showcase its rich heritage. Key features of this year's festival include:
​Cultural Processions: The "Rongketong," a vibrant traditional parade, kicked off the main festivities.
​Competitions: Youth from 32 KCS zones are participating in traditional folk dance, music, and indigenous sports.
​Modern Attractions: Alongside ancient rituals, the festival features a National Rock Contest, the "Miss KYF" pageant, and contemporary art exhibitions.
​Heritage & Unity: The event focuses on the theme of preserving the Karbi language and oral traditions for future generations.
​Political Support & Participation
​Prominent figures from the region have extended their support for the event.
