Labourer one died, five injured after they fall from under-construction building in Chembur Mumbai
A tragic construction accident in Subhash Nagar, Chembur, claimed the life of 55-year-old Ramanejenellu Hanumanta Deshpogu after he and five others fell from the sixth floor of an under-construction building on Saturday morning around 10 am.The workers were constructing a parking loft wall on the sixth floor when six of them fell.
Five workers were injured, with one admitted to ICU and others undergoing treatment at Rajawadi Hospital. Mumbai Police have launched an investigation, while Mayor Ritu Tawde assured strict action if negligence by supervisors or contractors is found.Other details are awaited. The deceased has been identified as Ramallu, and the injured individuals as Gunadhar Rai (22), who is critical, Usrai (30), Ramesh Rai (25), Vijay (35), and Sandip (27)
No FIR has been registered yet. Mumbai Police cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the fall. Police are examining whether safety protocols were followed at the site. "As of now, it's unclear how the fall happened. If this is negligence caused by the supervisors or the contractor, they will be booked," said an officer
