NEWS RELEASE: RLD J&K Unit Demands Justice for CAPF Personnel; Slams Government Over Negligence of Jawans' Welfare

NEWS RELEASE: RLD J&K Unit Demands Justice for CAPF Personnel; Slams Government Over Negligence of Jawans' Welfare
Jammu & Kashmir: The General Secretary of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Jammu & Kashmir Unit has issued a strong statement today, championing the cause of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Highlighting the immense sacrifices made by these paramilitary forces, the RLD leader criticized the systemic delays and denials of essential benefits that these "bravehearts" rightfully deserve.
Key Grievances Highlighted by RLD:
Denial of CSD Canteen Facilities:
The General Secretary pointed out a glaring disparity: while other wings of the armed forces enjoy CSD (Canteen Stores Department) facilities, CAPF personnel—who serve in equally treacherous conditions—are deprived of this benefit. RLD demands immediate parity in canteen facilities to ease the financial burden on jawans and their families.
Stagnation of ACP & MACP Benefits:
It was highlighted that a significant number of personnel are being denied their Assured Career Progression (ACP) and Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) benefits.
"It is a matter of shame that the men who protect our borders have to wait years for their rightful financial upgrades and promotions. This administrative apathy is demoralizing our frontline defenders," stated the General Secretary.
Pending Pension Updates:
The party expressed grave concern over the plight of retired personnel. Many pensioners have reported that their pensions have not been updated according to the latest scales, leaving them struggling in an era of high inflation.
A Call for Immediate Action
The Rashtriya Lok Dal J&K Unit has warned that the hard work of CAPF jawans must not be taken for granted. The General Secretary emphasized that these forces are the backbone of internal security and border management in sensitive zones like Jammu & Kashmir.
The RLD officially demands that the Central Government:
Extend CSD Canteen benefits to all CAPF personnel immediately.
Clear the backlog of ACP and MACP cases within a fixed timeframe.
Direct the pension departments to update and release the revised pension amounts for all retired jawans.
"Our jawans give their blood and sweat for the nation; the least the government can do is provide them with the dignity and financial security they have earned," the General Secretary concluded.
