📰 Major Anti-Drug Bust in Jaigaon: One Arrested with 87 Grams of Brown Sugar

Jaigaon, Alipurduar: Amid ongoing election preparations, Jaigaon Police continue their strict crackdown on narcotics to ensure a drug-free society. In a significant success, the police arrested one ব্যক্তি and seized a substantial quantity of brown sugar during a late-night অভিযান.
According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Crime Team of Jaigaon Police Station conducted a raid in the Machia Basti area around 10 PM on Tuesday. During the operation, 87 grams of brown sugar were recovered, and one identified as Saddam Hossain was arrested on the spot.
The contraband was seized in the presence of a magistrate and properly documented through photography, ensuring legal compliance. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and an investigation has been initiated.
Police officials stated that the accused will be produced before the court, and a request for police custody will be made. Authorities believe that further interrogation may lead to the identification of other members involved in the drug network.
