IIC Sandhyarani Jena Suspended Over Viral Police Misconduct Video

Odisha Kendrapara: A viral video showing alleged physical assault of a mother and her son inside Talachua Marine Police Station has sparked widespread outrage across Odisha. The footage circulated extensively on social media platforms including Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and X, leading to public demands for accountability and strict action against the officer involved, IIC Sandhyarani Jena.

Following the controversy, police officials confirmed that an internal inquiry was initiated promptly. Based on preliminary findings of negligence and misconduct, Sandhyarani Jena was suspended pending further investigation. This is not her first suspension, as she was previously suspended during her posting at Patna Police Station in Keonjhar district over similar assault allegations and has been linked to other controversies in Jharsuguda.
