NALCO Hospital and Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital Visakhapatnam jointly organized World No Tobacco Day, Damanjodi, Koraput.

World Tobacco Day celebrated at NALCO
Damanjodi:-30/5 World Tobacco Day was celebrated at the Navaratna Industry National Aluminium Project Damanjodi today. A grand marathon and road awareness program was organized in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital Visakhapatnam and NALCO Damanjodi Hospital to celebrate World Tobacco Day. NALCO Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sandhyarani and Cancer Hospital's Dr. Surya Prakash conducted the program. NALCO ED Amarendra Kumar Mishra flagged off the marathon as the chief guest. NALCO Chief General Managers Sanjay Gupta, Sugato Anand Basu, MR Panda, Dilip Bagh, Duryodhan Behera and General Manager Suresh Batula were the guests. He addressed the gathering with awareness. Cancer Hospital's Shri Sandeep Lenka, Chandan Kumar Jena, Shri Prasad, NALCO Hospital's Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Dash, Dr. Deepak Mohanty, Dr. U S Pradhan, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Dr. Umashankar Patra, Dr. Mukund Deb Behera, Dr. SR Pandit were the main pioneers of the marathon. Hundreds of people, including workers of various labor organizations, social workers and young and old people of Damanjodi, participated in this marathon and ran a three-km marathon in the city raising various slogans on today's call to quit tobacco, smoking, and drugs. Kalpana Sadangi, Meenakshi Kar, Saroj Lakra, Kailash Maharana were the main pioneers. Hundreds of employees from various departments including social workers Dr. Jalendra Tripathi, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mohanty, Sadananda Dash, Avinash Dash, Manoranjan Behera, Rashmiranjan Sethi, Dilip Kumar Sahu, Vijay Thalari and others participated in this marathon. All were given Baniyan. Such awareness-based marathon was seen to have a great impact in the Damanjodi area.
