Budgam Police recovered 103 KGs of Poppy Straw ( Fukki); 03 Notorious Drug Peddlers arrested

BUDGAM: Budgam Police arrested 03 Notorious Drug Peddlers and recovered 103 KGs of Poppy Straw (FUKKI). During naka checking at Sholipora Budgam, police party of police station Budgam intercepted one vehicle *Mahindra Maxi Truck bearing registration number JK05J-7919* with three persons onboard, police party signalled them to stop, instead of stopping the vehicle they tried to escape from the spot, police party chased them and overpowered the Vechicle near TATA brickkiln.

During search of the said Vehicle 103 Kgs of Poppy Straw (Fukki) like substance was recovered from modified hidden chambers lying in the base of the body of the vehicle. They have been identified as:- 1.Mohammad Sultan Bhat S/O Ghulam Qadir Bhat R/O Sholipora Budgam.2. Abdul Hameed Dar S/O Ghulam Mohammad Dar R/O Sholipora Budgam* *3. Ghulam Nabi Dar S/O Mohammad Shafi Dar R/O Gulistan Baramulla* Case FIR number *241/2021* under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.```
